Welcome to the website of Thinking Dog
(Dog Behaviour Counselling).
Andina Faragher, Thinking Dog's behaviour consultant, works with you to solve your dog's behaviour problems and to strengthen the bond between you and your dog.
To schedule an appointment, call Andina on (mobile)
0400 463 957
or send an email from our contacts page.
Problems you may be having with your dog's behaviour include:
- aggressive behaviour towards people or other dogs
- resource guarding (aggressive behaviour around food, toys or locations)
- fears and phobias
- anxieties, including separation anxiety
- barking
- destructiveness
- digging
- jumping up
- unruly and boisterous behaviour
- escaping from the yard
- housetraining problems
- pulling on the lead.
These behaviours can be changed when we understand why they are occurring and apply the scientific principles of learning to them.
Andina uses only humane methods based on positive reinforcement of desirable behaviours. She does not use old-fashioned aversive techniques (‘stuff your dog hates') such as choke chains, or outdated concepts such as showing ‘dominance' over your dog.
Andina has a Certificate IV in Dog Behavioural Training (Canine Good Citizen™) from the Delta Society of Australia, and a 4-year Diploma of Advanced Canine Behavioral Sciences from the Companion Animal Sciences Institute.
